XChat omsg script
Mirc has the “feature” of showing op messages in the channel window, similar to op notices. Unfortunately this causes lots of irritation to non-Mirc users who are not able to tell the difference between op messages and their private messages.
I’ve written a little python script for XChat which forces it to handle op messages the same way as op notices. It also adds a /omsg command, whose use however is not recommended because it will piss off any other non-Mirc users.
However I’ve written this script some years ago, and while I have gotten reports of it not working on certain IRC networks, I wasn’t able to debug this behaviour. Since I don’t use the email address I used when the problem first got reported to me (due to way too much spam), I don’t have any information on the issues anymore.
